Peyton's 5th Birthday

Okay so I admit that I am behind once again. Who knows if I will ever catch up? Anyway Peyton turned 5 on November 12th. He decided to have a Transformer themed birthday this year. His birthday was on a Thursday, so Nate took the day off so that he could spend some time with Peyton. He opened one gift in the morning before his brothers had to go to school, he was excited because it was the guitar that he had been asking for. Then it was a day spent Peyton's way. After getting checked out at Grandpa's office, he picked 5 Guys Burgers and Fries for lunch. After that we took him shopping and then he went and picked out his balloons for his party. When the boys got home from school, Nate took Peyton miniature golfing at Fiesta Fun (Because he wanted to do something with only dad:)) and I took the rest of the crew to the store to let them each pick out a present for Peyton. After we all got back together, Peyton decided he didn't want to eat at the usual Texas Roadhouse and chose Winger's instead. They gave him his very own asphalt pie, which he shared with the whole family. Then we came home and he opened up all the rest of his presents from us and his brothers and sister. We sang to him and ate some yummy Transformer cupcakes. What an eventful day!!

On Friday the 13th, we had the family party. We baked a Transformer cake, which Nate frosted way awesome!!! All of his cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents came and spoiled him even more. He wanted to wear his Bumblebee costume for his party because of course it was a Bumblebee themed party!! He had a blast and scored a ton of loot!! Thanks to everyone who could make it and be a part of Peyton's special day!!
5 things we ♥ about Peyton:

He is very compassionate and very loving.
He has a heart of gold and then some.
He is the family entertainer.
He can put a smile on anyone's face!
He is and always will be my baby boy!!!

We love you sooooo much Peyton!!!

Halloween 09

We had a blast as usual on Halloween. We started the night out by visiting Grandpa Pug first to show him our costumes once again. Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Graff's house for some trick or treating. We then went and did a few haunted houses in our neighborhood and trick and treated some more. Then it was off to Santa Clara. We made a stop by Kande and Kirby's neighborhood because quite frankly this is the neighborhood to hit. It's always a huge party. The kids rode the train, had corndogs, did another haunted house, and of course got a ton of candy. After all of that excitement we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Abbott's neighborhood where we did some more trick or treating and then finally settled down at Grandma and Grandpa's house for our traditional chili and breadsticks. The kids had so much fun and even though we got home way late they were still bouncing off the walls :) We had so much fun and can't believe we have to wait a whole year before we can do it again!!! Also, thanks Great Grandma and Grandpa Johnston for the cards and money you sent. The kids loved it!!!

Annual Pugmire Halloween Party

I love Halloween especially the parties. Once again Lindsay and Esther and family hosted the annual Pugmire Halloween party. We love this the most because the kids get a chance to see their cousins, aunts, and uncles all dressed up, which they wouldn't get to see on Halloween night. We had a blast and even had a few surprises, Grandma and Grandpa Graff dressed up as pirates. (This was the biggest surprise of the night!!) The kids loved it!! There was dinner, games, contests, treats, dancing, and so much more. Traevn took home the best costume award for the boys!!! Yeah!! We had a blast, as always, and can't wait to see what next year brings.

Here are some of the costumes we had:
Lynette and Kress: Croc Hunter and wife
Noah: Indian (from YMCA, his friends are going to be the other three)

Everybody else: themselves

Deer Hunt '09

October brings a lot of activities but one thing it will always bring is the annual Deer Hunt!!! Come rain, snow, sleet, hail, sun, wind, etc. it still shows up no matter what. This year was no exception. So the big boys and the small boys and one big girl:) packed their bags and set off to the mountain. In other words Grandpa & Grandma Graff, Kirby, Keaton, Nate, Karter, Traevn, Kress, Noah, and Jeremy all headed off in search for a deer. Brekken was beyond sad that he wasn't able to go but there wasn't enough four wheelers to take one more. He gets to go next year and he also gets to go bird hunting this year with Nate.

The boys had such a fun time. They love every part of hunting i.e. camping, hiking, four-wheeler rides, shooting Grandpa's 22, roasting marshmallows, being with their cousins, traditions, food, etc. On Saturday night at the very last minute Grandpa Graff saw a deer. He tried to get it to run away because it was a smaller one but it wouldn't go and just stood there. Finally he decided that he would just shoot it because he wanted to teach the little boys and show them about cleaning and skinning a deer. The boys were beyond fascinated. Grandpa ended up giving all the deer meat to a family in need in his ward. Grandma ended up wrecking on one of the four-wheelers, getting stuck underneath it, and finding out the next week that she had cracked her ribs. Ouch!!! She is doing better and will hopefully be healed up in about 4 more weeks. What's a deer hunt without a story to tell.

As usual while the boys hunted, my sisters and I and the rest of the kids got together. We shopped, went out to eat, and watched a movie. It was fun and the kids loved it!!!
Also, while their brothers were away Brekken, Peyton, and Brynlei decorated some pumpkins for the family. (I will post the pictures later. :) We definitely can't wait until next October and the annual Deer Hunt!!!

Super Scholar

So about three weeks ago we get a call from Brekken's teach Mrs. O'Malley. She told us that we needed to be at the school assembly that Friday because Brekken was getting an award. She didn't tell us what the award was just to show up. When we got to the assembly we found out that Brekken was getting the Super Scholar award for October for 1st grade. Good job Brekken, we are so proud of you!!! Keep up the excellent work!!!
