Our dirty little secret.....

Okay, I admit it........ we secretly love to eat brownies at our house.  Every Sunday (our cheat day from all things healthy) we make a batch of brownies. (it has to be milk chocolate) The kids looove to make brownies and more importantly loooove to consume them in record time :)  We allow ourselves this reward for being such healthy eaters during the week.......

Brynlei loves to help "steer" the brownies.....

but mostly, it's a race to see who gets to lick the bowl clean.... (unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of this somewhat chocolatey mess)  Usually, this part can end up in tears if all kids do not get equal parts of the chocolate batter.  The kids have a hard time waiting for the brownies to cook and constantly ask, "Are they done yet?"  Leaving me to wonder why I voluntarily do this on a weekly basis.:)
My question to you would be are you a center or an edge eater?
Nate and I both love the edges the most!!  That's why when we saw this pan we knew that someday it will have a permanent place in our home!

*Just in case you were wondering what you could get us for Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas this should be enough of a hint:)

Grandma's Party!!

PIZZA PARTY!!

*For some reason I couldn't get this to show up on the other post!

HB Grandma Abbott

*Just to note first......Nate takes all the credit on posting the picture and the headline!

Happy Birthday Grandma Abbott!!
Today is Kathy's birthday!  My kids are so lucky to have her as their grandma, she is the best!! She is always doing thoughtful and fun things for them and with them.  They love when they get to sleep over at her house!!  She has the biggest heart and truly loves each one of her grandkids in a special way!  I am lucky that she is my mother-in-law, she has taught me so much!  She is such an example to me!!  She is creative, beautiful, kind, loving, genuine, a gourmet cook, etc. and is an amazing quilt maker. (When I was pregnant with Traevn, I wanted some cute bedding from Pottery Barn for the boys' room, but couldn't afford it at the time.  Kathy looked at a picture of it and made it exactly!! Of course, it turned out way better than Pottery Barn ever could!)  She is always there for our family, and is willing to do absolutely anything for us!  Thank you Kathy for all that you do and have done!  We celebrated her birthday a little earlier this week because she is going out of town today!  She had a pizza party and yummy cake and the boys were in heaven!!  We love you!! and remember to party hard!!

Walk to School Day!

Yesterday was "Walk to School Day" at Heritage Elementary.  The kids were all excited (not that they don't ride their bikes or walk every other day) because Dad decided to go in late so that he could walk to school with them.  Once they got to the school they got a necklace and a lanyard.  Each time they do laps they get little feet charms to attach to their necklace and once they have completed a full marathon they get special awards/prizes.
This program goes until March of next year.  I think this is great because it gets kids active (which I am all about) and learning about why exercise is good for their health.  Way to go kids, and I hope that they are able to go all-the-way!!!

HB Jaxon

It is my nephew Jaxon's 9th birthday!!!   We just wanted Jax to know how much we love him and that we are thinking about him on his special day!!!  Jaxon lives in Texas and so we don't get to see him as much as we would like to!!  We miss you Jax and hope that today you get to party, party, and party hard!!!  We love you!!!

Soccer update for 9.27

Soccer Games

Brekken/Traevn:  Started at 9 AM, which was the same time as Peyton's so I was only able to catch the very end of it.  They didn't win, but Nate had to end up coaching both teams playing because the other coach didn't show up..(we should of automatically won due to that, but go figure)  They played really hard and were both disappointed with their loss.  I told them that it's okay to lose as long as you played your best.

Peyton:  I went to his game, and once again.......he dominated!!! He is such a good player, and it's amazing that he knows the stuff he does, especially at his age. (I guess sitting on the sidelines and watching his older brothers' games over the years taught him something:)
His team won!!  Good job Peyter-pie!!

Karter:  He played his game up in Cedar City.  So after the other boys' games we took off to Cedar to play the #1 ranked team in his bracket!  Our boys played their best game yet, but didn't end up winning.  It was fun to travel up there anyway, afterwards we ate at The Pizza Factory.

You boys played awesome!!  We love you!!
